Customs Regulations
Croatia’s customs regulations are largely aligned with EU standards. Detailed information on importing personal belongings, cash, valuable equipment, plants, and animals into Croatia is available on the Ministry of Finance, Customs Administration.
Visa requirements
Foreign nationals holding valid Schengen visas, as well as visas or residence permits for Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania, do not require an additional (Croatian) visa. Foreigners who need a visa for Croatia can also fill out the visa application form online. After completing the application, it is necessary to contact the competent embassy or consulate where the applicant intends to submit the application with the serial number and password and proof of payment of the visa fee.
Pets
Your pets are welcome in Croatia and you can take them on vacation. Here read what requirements must be met in terms of vaccinations and microchips and other details that may be useful for you when travelling with pets.
ELECTRICITY AND WATER
Croatia’s electrical system is consistent with the rest of Europe: All installations deliver alternating current of 220V/50Hz, and the sockets are so-called “shuko” shape. European tourists (except those from the UK and Ireland) do not need adapters. For others, if they come from countries with a different voltage system, i.e. socket standard, standard EU adapters will do. Tap water is safe to drink across Croatia.
On public holidays, all public institutions and individual shops throughout Croatia are closed.
