September brings a different rhythm to the town of Krk – a slower pace and more time to venture off the beaten path, peek behind the stone façades of the old town or hop on a bike and explore places where landscapes, people and local flavours naturally come together.

This month, we invite you to discover Krk from several different perspectives. Local Bike Sightseeing Tours, organised as part of the Travel to Taste Krk initiative, combine recreational cycling, lesser-known parts of island and local gastronomy, while the “From Karst to Gold” storytelling walks reveal the stories hidden behind Krk’s historic walls.

Four experiences spread across two September weekends share the same idea: discovering a destination through what makes it truly special – its landscapes, people, heritage, flavours and stories that stay with you long after you return home.

Storytelling Guided Walk: From Karst to Gold

Sunday | September 13 | Start at 6:00 PM

The Tourist Board of the City of Krk once again invites you to join the storytelling guided walk “From Karst to Gold”, a programme that brings the history, heritage and everyday life of the city of Krk closer through storytelling and interpretation of its historic surroundings.

Join us on a walk through the old town and discover the stories hidden in its stone. Through storytelling, we will step into the world of the Frankopans and the Glagolitic script, discover the traditional music of the island of Krk, learn about local customs and hospitality, explore the island’s medicinal plants, and hear the stories connected with the Frankopan Castle.

“From Karst to Gold” is not a traditional sightseeing tour. Storytelling brings history and heritage to life in a vivid and engaging way – through stories, sounds, scents, flavours and details that give a place its special meaning.

Meeting point: Trg krčkih glagoljaša (Krk - Glagolitic Square)

Start: 6:00 PM

Duration: 1.5 hours

Language: Croatian and English

Participation is free of charge.
