The Krk Sails is the first and the oldest regatta of traditional boats in this part of the Adriatic Sea, held always on the same date, the 15 of August.
The regatta has grown into a three-day event with a rich sports, entertainment and educational programme honouring the sea and maritime heritage of the island of Krk. This manifestation is now part of a series of interpretation events organised within the Interreg V-A Italy – Croatia programme, the scope of which goes hand in hand with the key goals of the “Arca Adriatica” project: protection, revitalisation, and touristic valorisation of the maritime heritage.
