The City of Krk Tourist Board proudly invites you to the 20th anniversary edition of Fig Days, an event that has been held continuously in Krk since 2007. A celebration of one of the Mediterranean's most treasured fruits – the fig – this event brings together enthusiasts of tradition, gastronomy and culture while highlighting the important role figs have played in the diet of the island's inhabitants for centuries.

 

This anniversary edition is particularly significant as it takes place in the year when Kvarner proudly holds the title of European Region of Gastronomy. Fig Days primarily aim to educate both visitors and the local community about figs – their history, cultivation, nutritional value and diverse culinary uses. At the same time, the event further strengthens the positioning of the Town and Island of Krk as an authentic Mediterranean gastronomic destination.

 

Combining tradition with contemporary experiences, the rich programme offers activities for all generations, ranging from expert lectures and creative workshops to live music performances and special fig-inspired menus available in local restaurants and cafés.

 

 

 

 

 

The quality and long-standing consistency of the event have also received national recognition. At the Sunflower Award – Rural Tourism Award 2025, held in December 2025, the City of Krk Tourist Board received the Bronze Charter in the category "Accessible Tourism and Strengthening Rural Communities" for the Fig Days event. This recognition confirms the project's value, its educational and inclusive character, and its contribution to preserving rural heritage, promoting sustainable destination development, and celebrating local gastronomic traditions.
